A new award for Egis Avia’s studies related to TCAS

About a year ago, the Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics awarded a prize to Egis Avia’s Surveillance, Separation and Safety team for its research works related to the Traffic collision avoidance system (TCAS).

On September 22, 2010, RTCA was organising its Fall Symposium featuring the Annual Awards Luncheon. Once again, Egis Avia has been recognised for the work done in the past year, especially its contribution to producing new specifications for the TCAS II system.

The purpose of this work aims at producing a new version of the system, incorporating major changes in its logic. The final objective has now been reached, hence providing significant breakthrough in terms of air safety and performance.

* Organized in 1935 as the Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics, RTCA is a US corporation including 400 members representing the whole aviation community: government organisations, industry, airspace users from different countries. RTCA develops recommendations regarding communications, navigation, surveillance, and air traffic management (CNS/ATM) system issues. Its work has full leverage with the regulatory and business decisions taken by the civil aviation stakeholders and mainly the Federal Aviation Administration.
