South Ring Project

The ambitious South Ring project is still on its way and recently entered in the training phase.

Leaded by a consortium formed by Egis Avia, St Petersburg University of Civil Aviation and Aero Development Bureau, the South Ring project started in September 2007 under the umbrella of the European Commission. Its objective is to contribute to the development of air transport between Europe and some countries of the TRACECA area (Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia). The project mainly aims at an harmonization of Air Traffic Control standards in the beneficiary countries.

After an assessment and data collection phase, the project enters in a training phase. Courses are dedicated to Air Traffic controllers, instructors and managers of the countries involved. Workshops and study tours come in addition to a programme which should be pursued until July 2009.
