Another RTCA award for the SSS division of Egis Avia

RTCA has voted once again to honour the Surveillance, Separation & Safety division of Egis Avia, and more particularly the work done by Eric Vallauri, one of the company’s ATM Experts.

RTCA recognizes the contributions to DO-319, Safety, Performance and Interoperability Requirements Document for Enhanced Traffic Situational Awareness During Flight Operations (ATSA-AIRB). This ADS-B application provides flight crews with a graphical display of airborne traffic relative to their aircraft together with supporting information on that traffic.

RTCA will publicly recognize the works on June 15, 2011, during the RTCA Annual Symposium – Accelerating NextGen through Public-Private Partnership to be held in Washington, DC.

For the record, Egis Avia had already been recognised by RTCA for its research works related to the Traffic collision avoidance system (TCAS) especially its contribution to producing new specifications for the TCAS II system.

* Organized in 1935 as the Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics, RTCA is a US corporation including 400 members representing the whole aviation community: government organisations, industry, airspace users from different countries. RTCA develops recommendations regarding communications, navigation, surveillance, and air traffic management (CNS/ATM) system issues. Its work has full leverage with the regulatory and business decisions taken by the civil aviation stakeholders and mainly the Federal Aviation Administration.
