Terminal extension at Lyon Airport

Egis provides support to project management on the feasibility studies for the expansion of the terminals T1 and T3 at Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport (Aéroports de Lyon).

As part of the master plan for infrastructure development, the company Aéroports de Lyon initiated a programme to extend the passenger terminals located in the south part of the airport. Terminal 1 is dedicated to commercial airlines and charter companies. It will accommodate at least 5 million passengers per year thanks to this project. The recently built Terminal 3 dedicated to low-cost airlines will accommodate traffic of about 1.5 million passengers per year, i.e. almost 20% of the total traffic of the airport. The objective is to increase its capacity to over 3 million. The extension of the two terminals represents a total surface of approximately 60,000 m².

The teams of the aeronautical branch of Egis bring their expertise in the design and layout of the terminals as well as the airside and building equipment. The teams specialised in buildings and architecture provide expertise in infrastructure planning. The project further illustrates the complementary competences in airport engineering within the Egis group.
