South Ring Project

> Description du projet

The South Ring project corresponds to the Aviation part of the Tacis-TRACECA programme. Conducted under the auspices of the European Commission, the project is carried out by a consortium formed by Egis Avia, the French National Institute for Civil Aviation (ENAC), the St Petersburg University of Civil Aviation, and Aero Development Bureau.

Aviation is indeed an aspect which cannot be ignored in the declared objective to foster the development of the Black Sea, Caucasus and Central Asia regions. For the same reasons as road or railway projects, the South Ring project should reinforce the links and improve the exchanges with Europe and Asia.

The heart of the programme focuses on the Training of operational air transport staff of South Ring states. The overall objective is to contribute to the development of air transport between Europe and the South Ring States. The training of personnel and exchanges of best practices aims at a better harmonization of Air Traffic Control (ATC) standards. Also, it should improve the ATC staff skills and upgrade the safety regulatory framework of National Civil Aviation training institutions and Safety authorities.
